📧 n8n Add AI labels to Gmail messages
This n8n Add AI labels to Gmail messages workflow automatically labels incoming Gmail messages using AI. It retrieves message content, suggests labels like ‘Partnership’, ‘Inquiry’, and ‘Notification’, and assigns them for better organization.
🔧 Workflow Steps:
- Gmail trigger: Receive data from Gmail about new incoming messages. Set polling interval according to your needs.
- Get message content: Based on the Gmail message ID, retrieve the body content of the email and pass it to the AI chain.
- Assign labels for message (with OpenAI Chat & JSON Parser): Let the AI decide which labels best suit the content of the message. The AI categorizes the message, and the JSON Parser structures the output. Remember to edit the system prompt and JSON schema to modify label names and instructions according to your needs.
- Set label values: Extracts the assigned labels for further processing.
- Get all labels: Retrieves all existing labels from your Gmail account.
- Split out assigned labels: Splits the array of assigned labels into individual items.
- Merge corresponding labels: Combines labels retrieved from your Gmail account and those assigned by AI.
- Aggregate label IDs: Creates an array of label IDs from the merged labels.
- Add labels to message: Adds the aggregated label IDs to the desired email message in Gmail.
